GOODREADS MOBILE
Redesigning Goodreads, the world’s largest online community for book lovers.
With over 125 million users, Goodreads is a hub for discovering, reviewing, and discussing books while connecting with others. This UI/UX redesign focuses on modernizing the mobile experience by improving navigation, enhancing book discovery, and strengthening social features.

PROBLEM SPACE + RESEARCH

The Goodreads mobile experience has been a longstanding turnoff for users, with clunky navigation, hidden features, and an unengaging interface making it frustrating to use.
Through surveys and research, I analyzed key pain points, identified features users wished the app had, and found areas for improvement with the visual design. I also wanted to hone in on improving the social aspect, ensuring that profiles, interactions, and community features felt more central to the overall experience.

DESIGN GOALS

The improved home feed acts as a central hub: a cozy space that makes users want to stay a little longer.

ALL ABOUT THE BOOK

A clean, refined UI that leaves the focus on the book. Everything is simple to find.

Introducing a matchmaking feature to help users find their next favorite book.
